Camping: Day 1...

I was pretty excited to get out in the great outdoors. I especially loved the fact that our campsite got invaded by a "plague of Egypt"-scale infestation of caterpillars.

Here's a shot of Daddy and I roasting marshmallows. My roasting stick was disturbingly short and disappointingly void of marshmallows, but Dad assured me that it was for safety's sake.

Happy campers.
It got pretty cold that night. As the temperature dropped, so did the happiness level. Seeing my Dad's distress at being left without a sleeping bag, I made sure to wake up every hour on the hour, hand him a corner of my snuggly blanket, and say "Here's your blanket, Daddy."
This is Dad here. True story – he really did. Let the record show that when it counts, Grant is really good at sharing.

On Saturday we hiked two miles up Mt. Timpanogos to a waterfall overlooking Sundance Resort. I hiked all two miles by myself, with no help from anyone...and led the way by a considerable margin, thank you very much.
This is the view at one point along the trail. Despite my Dad informing me that the pretty green grassy areas on the hill were in fact ski runs, I insisted they were a golf course...a really steep alpine golf course complete with fairway moguls and chairlifts instead of golf carts.

This is Stuart Falls. It was very very wet and very very cold and very very excellent for throwing rocks into.

I think it is adorable that he was sharing his blanket. What a stud!
